It's So Official - Little Rock Fashion Week 2012!

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 16-21) - For fashion enthusiasts from everywhere, it's that time of year for fun, bright lights, action, fashion and entertainment that they've been waiting to experience - Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW). The fourth annual LRFW is July 16-21. This year LRFW is being held at locations throughout Little Rock and North Little Rock. The experience will highlight the fashion brands by emerging local, national, and European designers, including the art by hairstylists, makeup artists and popular musicians.

It's an experience that promises to be one-of-a-kind throughout, and Brandon D. Campbell, LRFW's founder and executive producer, isn't sparing too many details on the creative aspects of each presentation. He's describing the 2012 installment as "reality fashionment experiences."

LRFW launches youth fashion design competition

LRFW launches youth fashion design competition

Little Rock Fashion Week is accepting applications from students entering grades 1st through 12th for its Youth Fashion Sketch Design Competition. Applications can be downloaded at LittleRockFashionWeek.com.

The purpose of the competition is to ignite, motivate and encourage young people who are interested in the fashion industry. Students are asked to create their own clothing line by sketching out their designs and coming up with a name.

The finalists from different grade categories (1st-5th grades; 6th-8th grades; and 9th-12th grades) will be invited to attend Little Rock Fashion Week 2012.

AETN accepting entries for PBS KIDS GO! Writer’s Contest through April 27

CONWAY, Ark. (AETN) — The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) is accepting entries for the PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest through Friday, April 27.

The PBS KIDS GO! Writer's Contest is a national-local contest for children in kindergarten through third grades and is designed to promote the advancement of children’s reading skills through hands-on, active learning.

Stories may be fact, fiction, prose or poetry. One entry is allowed per person, and stories must be by a single author. Kindergarten and first grade stories must have a minimum of 50 words and a maximum of 200 words. Second and third grade stories must have a minimum of 100 words and a maximum of 350 words. Text must be printed, written legibly or typed. Children who cannot write may dictate their story. Stories must have at least 5 original, clear and colorful illustrations.

‘AETN Presents’ features Celtic Thunder’s Keith Harkin solo performance

 

“AETN Presents: On the Front Row With Keith Harkin” will air on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) Friday, Nov. 25, at 6:30 p.m.

“AETN Presents: On the Front Row” is part of AETN Arts Fridays, featuring world class arts and culture programming and locally produced series.

Keith Harkin, a vocalist with Celtic Thunder, comes from County Derry in Northern Ireland, where he started performing for the public at age four, wowing audiences with his beautiful voice and musical talent. Now at 24, Harkin has played to audiences across Europe and North America. He is also an accomplished songwriter and guitarist and has opened concerts for acts such as John Martyn, The Undertones and David Kitt and has recently started his own record label, Busty Music.

“Keith is the blond, scruffy member of the band,” AETN Director of Production Carole Adornetto said.
