Real Proud recognizes Four Cabot students

CABOT, Ark.  - Bank of Little Rock Mortgage recognized four outstanding students on Monday, January 11, during Cabot’s varsity basketball game.

Four Cabot students were honored on Monday as a part of the Real Proud of Real Panthers program, sponsored by Bank of Little Rock Mortgage. The program recognizes hard-working students who are actively involved in their community and extracurricular activities.

The students honored include:

  • Trey Pierce, 8th grader at Cabot Junior High South
  • Karessa De La Paz, 8th grader at Cabot Junior High North
  • Caroline Villacis, 9th grader at Cabot Freshman Academy
  • Grace Davis, also a 9th grader at Cabot Freshman Academy     

Trey Pierce, son of Kristin and Ron Pierce, is president of the National Junior Honor Society. He competes on the JV8 Forensics Team and is a member of the PRIDE Student Leadership Team. He does this while maintaining all A's in his classes and being active in his church and community.

Karessa De La Paz, daughter of Conrad and Lori De La Paz , is a member of the JV Forensics Team, National Junior Honor Society and secretary of the Builders Club, a community-service organization. She made all-region in band and received several first place trophies in forensics. She maintains a 4.0 and is enrolled in several Pre-AP classes.

Caroline Villacis, daughter of Joseph and Rosemarie Villacis, is active on the Student Council and Student Leadership Team. She is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She is first-chair in the band and was named All-Region Band and Orchestra for French horn. She maintains a 4.0 and is enrolled in several Pre-AP classes.

Grace Davis, daughter of Kevin and Karen Davis, is a member of the Freshman Academy Leadership Team, the Forensics Team, the National Junior Honor Society and Student Council. She received the Director’s Award in Band, the Achievement in Words and Music Award and the President’s Education Award. She is also a Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest winner.

During the presentation, Steve Jackson, manager of the Cabot branch of Bank of Little Rock Mortgage, presented each student with an award plaque. He also presented the Cabot Panther Foundation a check for $400 in the names of each student to the Cabot Panther Foundation to help provide scholarships for students in the Cabot school district.
