CABOT, Ark. (KTHV) - Bank of Little Rock Mortgage recognized two Cabot High School students on Friday, September 4, during Cabot’s varsity football game against Conway.

The students were honored as a part of the Real Proud of Real Panthers program, sponsored by Bank of Little Rock Mortgage. The program recognizes hard-working students who are actively involved in their community and extracurricular activities. The students honored were Cabot High School junior Avery Elliott and senior Zoe Eddington.

Avery Elliott, the daughter of Dan and Melissa Elliott, was nominated by Dr. Martha Marshall. A natural leader, Avery joined Junior Civitan as a sophomore, serving two years as its president and, ultimately, being named the club’s Heartland District Governor representing five states.

An active student who consistently maintains a 4.0, Avery also finds time to coordinate community service events such as The Special Needs Christmas Party, Local Nursing Home Project and the Cabot Clean Up.

Zoe Eddington, the daughter of Anthony and Darcy Eddington, was nominated by Jennifer Akers. The recipient of numerous Presidential awards for academics and a frequent honor role member, Zoe was also a Real Proud of Real Panther’s recipient when she was in ninth grade.

Zoe is active in Mu Alpha Theta, FBLA, Varsity Forensics and the AP Academy. She has also received superior performance awards from the State Thespians Festival. She plans to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and major in Biology, Pre-med.

During the presentation, Steve Jackson, manager of the Cabot branch of Bank of Little Rock Mortgage, presented each student with an award plaque. He also presented the Cabot Panther Foundation a check for $200 in the names of each student. During this school year, the Cabot branch of Bank of Little Rock Mortgage will contribute $100 for each student honored, culminating in $2,400 this year, to the Cabot Panther Foundation to help provide scholarships for students in the Cabot school district.
