CABOT, Ark. (KTHV) - The Cabot Police Department and the Cabot Fire Department will have a friendly softball competition in order to raise money for charity on Friday. 

The Charity Softball game will take place on Friday, June 26 at 7 p.m. behind the Cabot Freshman Academy. It will be the firefighters versus the police officers, and the winner gets all the bragging rights. 

The event is free for all of the public to enjoy, but they will be taking up donations and selling concessions. There will also be bouncy houses for kids to play in. 

All of the proceeds will benefit Cabot organizations like C.O.P.S. Toy Patrol and Cabot Christmas for Kids.

UNDATED, Ark. (Arkansas Learns) - Being a high performing and improving school not only draws recognition and honor, it also can result in additional funding.

In the 2014-2015 school year, 215 public schools were recognized as high performing and gaining schools through the Arkansas School Recognition and Reward Program. The program recognizes the top 20 percent of schools based on academic achievement, academic growth and graduation rates.

According to the Arkansas Department of Education, “pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. §6-15-2107, the Arkansas School Recognition Program was created to provide financial awards to public schools that experience high student performance, student academic growth, and for a secondary school, high graduation rate.

BRYANT, Ark. (KTHV) - Boys and girls of all ages will hit the basketball courts on June 6 not only for the competition, but also for a good cause. 

Chick-fil-A off Reynolds Road in Bryant is teaming up with Landers of Benton and Team USA to host a Chick-fil-A Connect 3ON3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, June 6. The event will be held at Bishop Park in Bryant and will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Bryant and Team USA.

It's a must," said Guy Parker, owner/operator of Bryant Chick-fil-A and sponsor of the tournament.
