It is time to get those tillers tuned-up and your garden’s seeds ready!

The Cabot Farmers’ Market, in conjunction with Cabot City Beautiful, Inc. (CCB), is looking for local vendors.  This will be our fifth year and it already promises to be an even bigger market.  With the current economic atmosphere, many people are turning towards backyard gardens.  Many people can use this venue to supplement their income from selling at a market.  “A farmers market contributes to the social and economic welfare of a town & helps produce a strong sense of community identity together.” said Matt Webber, co-market manager.  The farmer’s market will stand as a common ground were people can interact with local farmers & fellow residents of the community, as well as a local source of fresh produce.

“We had a fairly successful first year, great second year, a fantastic third & our fourth year was simply amazing!  Shoppers & Vendors are looking forward to a bigger market this coming year. Many growers, crafters, and artisans, right here in our area, have contacted me.  They want to be a part of this great opportunity, in order to showcase & sell their products!” Webber stated.  "We are also still looking for local musicians to entertain at the Market.  Any individual or group, who might be interested in performing at the Market, should give me a call & we can add them to the schedule."

The Cabot Farmers’ Market will again be located in the parking lot of First Security Bank’s downtown branch.  This location provides great visibility & allows farmers & vendors to sell right off the back of their trucks, just like the ‘days of yester-year’. “We are working to integrate many new ideas and giveaways into this year’s market.” said Webber.  “We are also looking for local artists & singers to come and be showcased at each market.  We want an atmosphere that is friendly & inviting.”  Anyone interested in participating should contact Webber at 501-920-2122.

The starting date for the 2012 market season will be Saturday, May 5th and will be open every Saturday through October 27th, from 8:00 a.m. ‘til 12:00 p.m.
