AUSTIN, Ark. (KTHV) - The wife of a former Lonoke police chief was reportedly arrested in Austin.

According to Lt. Jim Kulesa with the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office, Kelly Campbell, 49, was arrested around 7 p.m. Monday for possession of a controlled substance.

Campbell made headlines in recent years when she and her husband, former Lonoke police chief Jay Campbell, were arrested in a sex and drug scandal, and sentenced to prison in April of 2007. Jay was sentenced to 40 years, while she was sentenced to 20. THV11 reported at that time that she could be out in nearly four years on good behavior.

The scandal first broke in February of 2006 when allegations of drug use, sex with inmates, and personal use of prisoners dating back to 2003 were brought into light.
